Jammu, Jul 12: The UT administration has made a commitment to get the state land vacated from the illegal occupation of the people so that public offices may be constructed for the better facilities to the people.
A team of revenue officials led by Tehsildar Bahu Dr Rohit Sharma today visited the village Sunjwan and identified the state land measuring 55 kanal falling under Khasra No 1531 and with heavy efforts he got land retrieved from the clutches of land robbers. No doubt, the task of retrieving the encroached land is very tough but the determined tehsildar got it vacated.
It is pertinent to mention that the 55 kanals of land retrieved costs Rs 80 lakh per kanal and it runs in several crores. The land grabbers are in guise of property dealers, goons, businessmen and even prominent citizens of Jammu, who have grabbed thousands of kanal land including state land, custodian land or banned Khads but it has been noticed that often revenue officers avoid entering in such action. They even prefer to avoid such actions on many pretexts. Whereas, such conflicts create enemy in bulk including politicians, higher ranked civil & police officers, goons, property dealers and capitalists. But it is the team of Tehsil Bahu under the supervision of Tehsildar Dr Rohit Sharma accompanied by concerned Naib tehsildar, Girdawar and Patwaris jumped into this action and got success.
It is pertinent to mention that in last two years the revenue officers of tehsil Bahu has retrieved 1300 state land falling in village Sunjwan and Chowadh. The revenue team of bahu Tehsil under the directions of Ramesh Kumar IAS Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Avni Lavsa IAS Deputy Commissioner Jammu and closely monitored by Abhishek Abrol KAS Sub Divisional Magistrate Jammu South has taken the challenge of evacuating the encroached land.
