Rajouri, Jan 3: In a major achievement, a police party of Rajouri police station headed by inspector Fareed Ahmed, SHO, and assisted by Shokit Iqbal (probationer sub-inspector) apprehended a notorious criminal/absconder wanted in about thirteen FIRs (cases since 2012).
The accused was also wanted in three arrest warrants issued by the Hon’able Court under section 512 CrPC.
The accused, who is a habitual criminal, notorious thief, drug addict, and absconder, has been identified as Sunny Sharma s/o Romesh Chander resident of Ward No.5 (Jawahar Nagar) Rajouri.
The police said that the accused was arrested during a surprise ‘naka’ laid by the team from Rajouri police station in the Jawahar Nagar area.
Accused Sunny Sharma was booked in case FIR No. 428/2012 (under sections 307/341/323/382 & 34 RPC; case FIR No 503/13 ( U/S 379/RPC); 626/14 (U/S 379/RPC); case FIR NO 158/15 (U/S 353/336/332/RPC); FIR No.529/15 (U/S 457/380/RPC); FIR No. 71/16 (U/S 380/RPC); FIR No.748/16 (U/S 457/380/RPC); FIR NO 755/16 ( U/S 457/380/RPC); FIR NO 13/17 (U/S 382/34 RPC); FIR No.134/17(U/S 234/RPC); FIR No. 443/20 ( U/S 457/380/IPC); FIR No. 423/20 (u/s 223/224 IPC); & FIR No. 407/20( u/s 457/380/109 IPC).
The police added that three warrants of arrest under section 512 CrPC (in case FIR No. 71/16; FIR No.620/12 & 407/20 have also been issued against the accused by the Hon’able Court
The accused was also wanted to be arrested in six non-bailable warrants in different cases, the police added.
“The accused is in police lock-up and will be produced before the court of law for a further Court order,” the police said.
Among other offences in which the accused was wanted include attempt to murder; theft after preparation having been made for causing death; wrongful restraint; assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty; making or selling instrument for counterfeiting Indian coin, causing disappearance of evidence of offence etc.
