Rajouri, Oct 5: District Rajouri police recovered 2.300 kilograms of Charas-like substance from the possession of a person during frisking of the vehicles on Rjouri-Thananamandi town in the morning on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Munawar Hussain, son of Noor Hussain of Choudhry Nar village situated in the vicinity of Rajouri town.
He has been booked under sections 8/20/21 of NDPS Act at Thanamandi poilice station and the police have started the investigation.
A senior police officer said that during ‘Naka Checking’ duty, a police party from Thanamandi police station stopped one Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration No. JK 11f-o644 was stopped.
“During frisking, the police recovered the Charas consignment from the possession of Munawar. Accused has been arrested and further investigation has been set in motion to identify his backward and forward contacts” said the officer.
Pertinent to mention that on September 18, Thanamndi police had arrested two residents of Rajouri and two from Rajouri district during the frisking of two vehicles and had recovered 85 grams of heroin like substance.
