Frustrated militants strike on civilians to register their existence in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 05: In three separate incidents the frustrated militants today stuck at three places and killed three innocent and unarmed civilians, which shows sheer frustration of depressed militants as they are losing the ground in Kashmir and at the verge of extinction due to firm resolve of Lt Governor Mr Manoj Sinha who has firm determination to wipe out the militancy from Kashmir. Today gruesome incident occurred barely two days after the killing of two civilians in Srinagar.
The sources revealed that unknown gunmen fired point blank at a famous chemist Bindroo, who was 68 years old, when he was inside his shop near Iqbal Park area of Srinagar, at around 7 pm. The people and sources said that Bindroo, was bleeding profusely, and was shifted to nearby SMHS hospital, but he died on the way, before reaching the hospital. As per the statements of Dr Kanwaljeet Singh, the Medical Superintendent of SMHS Hospital, the Bondroo was having multiple bullet injuries and was brought dead.
The police of Kashmir zone tweeted and confirmed that “militants fired at the owner of Bindroo Medicate namely Makhan Lal Bindroo near Iqbal Park, Srinagar. He was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Area has been cordoned off and search for militants is going on.” It was very clear message to the militants that they could not escape for long time as their countdown show has been started.
In another incident, at around 7:45 pm, unknown gunmen struck in Lalbazar area of Srinagar and shot dead a non-J&K vendor. A police official said that the gunmen, suspected to be militants, shot at a road-side vendor, who died on the spot. Police identified the slain was Virender Paswan, a resident of Bihar, present living in a rented accommodation at Alamgari Bazar area of old city.
Today’s third killing is since October 2 when unknown gunmen killed a civilian Abdul Majid Guroo, a resident of Chattabal and also another civilian Muhammad Shafi Dar, a resident of Batamaloo in Srinagar. While police was laying cordon in Iqbal Park and Alamgari Bazar areas of city, unknown gunmen shot at another civilian at Shahgund, Hajin area of northern district of Bandipora at around 8 pm.
The Block Medical Officer Hajin Dr Aijaz Ahmed told that Muhammad Shafi alias Sonu was brought dead to the Community Health Centre Sumbal. Sources revealed that slain was president of Sumo drivers Association Naidkhai. “He had gone to Shahgund to meet his relative,” they said. Whereas, the police has cordoned the area and launched a manhunt to nab the attackers as the Lt Governor is in no mood to tolerate such killings more. It is pertinent to mention that all three civilians were killed within a span of just one hour.
Bindroo’s killing was widely condemned, with BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur describing the deceased as pro-poor people. Thakur strongly condemned the killing, saying Bindroo was a helpful and sober person who always cared for poor.
“Those behind the killing of Bindroo have no religion as the killing of unarmed persons is never justified in any religion. I express my solidarity with the family members of Bindroo and urge police to expose and punish his killers, sooner than better,” Thakur said.
National Conference leader Omar Abdullah also condemned the killing.
“What terrible news! He was a very kind man. I’ve been told he never left during the height of militancy and remained with his shop open. I condemn this killing in the strongest possible terms & convey my heartfelt condolences to his family. God bless his soul,” Omar tweeted.
People’s Conference chief Sajad Lone also condemned the killing.
“The fatal attack against the owner of Bindroo medicates is outrageous and unacceptable. I knew the gentleman personally. He never left the valley. And terrorists made him pay for that. May he live in peace,” Lone tweeted.
CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said he had no words to condemn such a heinous and shameful act.
“His unfortunate death has sent shockwaves. No words to condemn such a heinous andc shameful act. This is indeed an irreparable loss for the whole society,” he said.
