Absconder Wanted for 29 Years in Heinous Crime Case Finally Traced

Jammu, Oct 09: In a major breakthrough and a testament to the unwavering resolve of Jammu (Rural) Police in bringing fugitives to justice, an absconder who had been evading arrest for nearly three decades has finally been traced.
The accused, identified as Manzoor Ahmed, son of Gh. Qadir Baba, resident of Khadwani, Kulgam, was wanted since 1996 in a serious criminal case registered under FIR No. 34/1996 U/S 366/376/363 RPC at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli. The case involved grave offences, and the accused had been declared absconder with a warrant issued under Section 512 CrPC, remaining untraced for over 29 years.
In a meticulously coordinated effort, the team of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, under the dedicated and efficient leadership of SHO Inspector Vikas Dogra, managed to trace the long-absconding accused. Through persistent follow-ups and close liaison with Police Station Qaimoh in South Kashmir, it was confirmed that the accused was already lodged in Kulgam Jail in connection with another case.
Upon verification, the concerned lodgment certificate and warrant of arrest were formally produced before the Court in Jammu to initiate further legal proceedings against the absconder in the long-pending Jhajjar Kotli case.
This successful tracing marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice and reinforces the commitment of Jammu Police to ensure that no criminal, regardless of the time elapsed, can escape the hand of law.
