Jammu Police hosts Seminar on ‘New three Criminal Laws’, hopes best deliverance

•  New three laws are BNS (Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita earlier IPC); BNSS (Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita earlier CrPC); and BSA (Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam earlier Indian Evidence Act).

Jammu, Jul 01: The Jammu Police organized a seminar today to discuss three newly introduced criminal laws, under the guidance of ADGP Jammu Zone, Mr. Anand Jain. The event saw the participation of key legal and administrative figures, with retired Director of Prosecution BR Gupta serving as the chief guest. He provided an in-depth analysis of the new laws. Jammu Bar Association President Advocate Vishal Sharma, attending as the guest of honour, offered detailed insights into the legislative changes. Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar IAS, also a guest of honour, spoke on the significance of these laws.
Others who were present on the decorated dice were DIG Jammu Kathua Range Sunil Gupta, DIG Traffic Dr Mohammad Haseeb Mughal IPS, Sarah Rizvi-IPS Dy. Inspector General of Police and Dr Vinos Kumar SSP Jammu.
As the chief guest, BR Gupta shared his extensive experience and knowledge, shedding light on the prosecutorial aspects of the new laws. He discussed the anticipated procedural changes and the importance of training for prosecutors to effectively navigate the new legal landscape.
Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar IAS, also a guest of honour, spoke about the administrative measures being undertaken to facilitate the implementation of the new laws. He outlined the steps being taken to ensure a smooth transition and effective enforcement of the new legal provisions.
Advocate Vishal Sharma, in his address as the guest of honour, provided a comprehensive overview of the three new criminal laws. He emphasized the need for legal practitioners to stay updated and adapt to these changes to ensure effective representation for their clients. He further explained that in the new three laws the justice and deterrent both are available, justice to victim and deterrent to accused.
Mr. Anand Jain, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of understanding and implementing the new laws to improve the legal and justice system’s efficiency. He highlighted the collaborative efforts required from both law enforcement and the legal community to ensure these laws achieve their intended impact.
The seminar concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where the guests and speakers were honoured for their contributions. The event was well-attended and marked a significant step towards the effective implementation and understanding of the new criminal laws in Jammu.
