Akhnoor, May 15: In a continued effort to curb criminal activities within Akhnoor subdivision, Jammu Police have invoked the Public Safety Act (PSA) against a notorious criminal with a history of violent offenses.
Acting on reliable information, a team from Akhnoor Police Station apprehended Arun Kumar, son of Kalu Ram, a resident of Ward No. 5, Raja Bazar, Akhnoor. The accused, a known history-sheeter at Akhnoor Police Station, faces allegations of involvement in numerous heinous crimes, including criminal trespass, stabbing, and criminal intimidation. The following cases stand registered against him at Akhnoor Police Station: 1) FIR No. 162/2012 u/s 341/323 RPC, 2) FIR No. 49/2013 u/s 4/25 Arms Act. 3) FIR No. 12/2015 u/s 4/25 Arms Act, 4) FIR No. 256/2019 u/s 451/323/504/427 RPC, 5) FIR No. 42/2024 u/s 451/380/504/506/34 IPC and 6) Preventive Measures u/s 107/117 CrPC
District Magistrate Jammu issued a warrant for Arun Kumar’s arrest under the PSA based on a comprehensive dossier submitted by District Police Jammu. The police team, led by SHO Akhnoor Tariq Ahmad and PSI Karnail Singh, successfully executed the arrest warrant under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma and SP Rural Brijesh Sharma. The accused is currently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
