Rajouri heart rendering killings!
- NIA team today visited Dangri of Rajouri district, collected evidence from the spot where 6 people including 2 minors killed in firing and IED explosion on Jan 1 and 2.
- The Jammu Police have announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anybody sharing information about terrorists involved in the killing of innocent civilians.

Rajouri, Dec 03: More than two thousand people from various sections of life, including DGP, Dilbag Singh; Additional DGP (Jammu) Mukesh Singh, Div Com (Jammu), Ramesh Kumar; BJP State President, Ravinder Raina, on Tuesday bade tearful farewell to six terror victims here at Dhangri-including 2 minors-a day after terrorists struck in the Upper Dhangri village on Sunday evening & followed by an IED blast on Monday planted by them in one of victim’s house.
There is wide condemnation of this gruesome massacre by two heavily armed terrorists and at many places, people observed Band on Monday and Tuesday &, burnt the effigies of Pakistan for aiding and abetting terror in UT of J&K, especially in Rajouri-Poonch border districts.
Even before the cremation, the people took out a protest claiming that Pakistan-sponsored terrorists were behind killings in Dhangri village and urged the PM & Home Minister for another Balakot-type surgical strike against the sponsor of terrorism (Pakistan).
People also urged them to strengthen VDCs once again and provide them with automatic weapons so that they can protect the lives of innocent citizens.
In one such brave attempt one old VDC member (who had refused to surrender .303 gun) namely Bal Krishan after noticing a terrorist attack opened fire from his rooftop forcing both the terrorists to flee from the village apprehending retaliation fire before they could inflict more fatal injuries.
“Bal Krishan apparently has saved many precious lives as the terrorists were moving fast from one house to another with a target to kill a maximum number of people. Had the Bal Krishan not opened fire towards them, they would have killed many others,” said Harish Bharti, a social & political activist.
He and many others demanded a suitable reward for Balkrishan and also his recruitment in the police force so that he could save the lives of the innocent with an automatic weapon.
Hundreds of people from neighbouring villages, Rajouri town, and other parts of the district joined the cremation to convey sympathies to the bereaved families.
The bodies of four-year-old Vihan Sharma, 16-year-old Samiksha Sharma, and Deepak Kumar (23) were kept on pyres separately (because they were unmarried), Pritam Lal (57) & his son Sishu Pal (32) were cremated together while ex-serviceman Satish Kumar (45) was cremated separately.
There was a tight security arrangement at the cremation ground.
Meanwhile, a 4-member NIA team from Jammu also visited Upper Dhangri village and held a detailed discussion with the affected families and the eyewitnesses.
The team also lifted the blood samples & collected the empty bullets fired by the terrorists besides other items for forensic examination.
It is pertinent to mention here that 23-year-old Deepak Kumar, who was killed in a terror attack on Sunday, was about to join the Indian Army.
According to family members Deepak was about to take his dinner when the terrorists after verifying his Adhaar card resorted to indiscriminate firing, killing him on the spot & his brother was injured.
In the evening on Tuesday, a candle march was taken out at Budhal led by prominent BJP leader Manzoor Naik against ‘target killings’ of the minority community in Dhangri and also paid tributes who lost their precious lives in this barbaric and cowardly terrorist attack.
“We have come here to stand in solidarity with our brothers & sisters who lost their loved ones in the terrorist attack. We don’t want innocent blood to be shed anywhere in the UT of J&K and killing unarmed, vulnerable, and peace-loving persons is nothing to be endorsed” said Manzoor Naik.
Whereas, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday visited the Dangri of Rajouri district and collected evidence from the incident spot where six people including two minors were killed in firing and IED explosion on January 1 and January 2.
Meanwhile, Jammu Police have announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anybody sharing information about terrorists involved in the killing of innocent civilians.
“The NIA team this morning visited the site of attacks to investigate the matter,” official sources added.
Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh in a message circulated on social media said, “Anybody sharing specific information regarding the terrorists involved in the gruesome terror attack at Dhangri, Rajouri shall be rewarded Rs 10 Lakh.”
“The details of the informer shall be kept secret,” the message read. The telephone numbers 9596520120, 7006699696, 01962-262515 have also been shared by the police.
In the meanwhile, District administration Samba has imposed night curfew in one kilometre area for a period of two months from an international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the order issued by the District Magistrate Samba, Anuradha Gupta said that in view of prevailing security situation vis-a-vis upcoming Republic Day, under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, it has been ordered that no person or group of persons, shall move in the area up to one-km along the international border in district Samba from 9 pm to 6 am.
“The BSF authorities during the meeting of District Level Standing Committee on Border Security, took up the issue of imposition of night curfew in the border area, in a strip of 1-km from the international border from 9 pm to 6 am daily, enabling them to perform their duties more effectively,” said the District Magistrate.
She said that to ensure smooth functioning as well as better domination of border by BSF authorities, close to the border areas and to preclude nefarious activities close to these belts, the regulation in the movement of people has become imminent particularly in the area upto one km from the International Border.
“It is felt by the District Administration, that it is expedient that the movement of people in border areas is regulated so that there is better area domination by BSF in border areas and nefarious designs of forces inimical to Indian security are subverted,” she said. “In case the movement is necessary, the person or persons are required to produce their respective ID Cards.”
