Lt Governor cancels ‘rigged’ PSI recruitment, CBI probe ordered

At last justice prevailed!

• The selection through the JKSSB was not done as per the laws and there is open violation in outsourcing to a private agency.
• The JKSSB was constituted with an aim of the government to make the process more transparent but here it was contrary.
•  The Jammu Jottings team has worked hard to unearth the scam and continued till the justice was not done with the genuine students.
•  Some journalist were opposing our crusade against the corrupt practices but we moved with firm stand and today government ordered CBI inquiry.
•  The role of the then chairman of JKSSB must be investigated by CBI to ascertain the fact.

Srinagar, Jul 08: The Lt General Manoj Sinha today cancelled the infamous and rigged written test of JKP SI following the recommendations of Inquiry Committee, whereas he has also recommended a CBI enquiry to book the scammers those who silently challenged the authority of Lt Governor rule silently. The news of the rigging and selling of paper against getting hefty amount was cracked by the Jammu Jottings and continued till it come up for CBI inquiry.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has cancelled the Police Sub-Inspector recruitment examination and recommended a CBI probe into the selection process. The announcement was made by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha after getting the report from Inquiry Committee headed by RK Goyal IAS. The Lt Governor has ordered an inquiry on June 09 and later inquiry committee ordered on June 10.
The purpose to cancel the JKP Sub-Inspector recruitment and to recommend a CBI probe into this, only to book the big scammers who had done fraud with innocent people, The culprits will be brought to justice soon and the genuine aspirants will get a fair chance to prove their worth. This is the big step towards securing future of our youth and the government will soon decide the future course of action for fresh recruitment.
The Inquiry Committee report says that the aspirants of three sub division, whereas Kathua, Samba and Rajouri district have got selected much in number, which is very dubious. The aspirants of the other districts lagging behind in getting selected which indicates that there was unfair process in selection process.
After a provisional list for 1,200 posts of sub-inspectors was declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board on June 4, angry aspirants hit the streets. The protesters claimed at least siblings from 27 families have qualified the exam, which was very dubious and manipulated. Nearly one lakh candidates had taken the examination.
Last month, Sinha had ordered an inquiry into the selection of police sub-inspectors after allegations of fraud in the recruitment process surfaced. The list of 1,200 successful candidates was declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board on June 4. Over 97,000 candidates had appeared in the exam for the posts.
Protests were held in Jammu against the selection list as there were allegations of favouritism. Several youths from a Jammu family had made it to the list, giving rise to the allegations.
Political parties also threw their weight behind the protesters, prompting the government to announce a probe into the recruitment process.
The Union territory government formed a committee to probe the alleged irregularities in the written test for sub-inspector posts.
The committee, formed on June 10, was headed by Financial Commissioner of the Home Department R K Goyal and had the Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department and the Secretary of the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs as members.
The committee was asked to submit its report and recommendations within 15 days.
The committee found that the different signatures of the invigilators in the same centre and even the same room, which clearly indicated that the OMR has been tempered or attempted after the examination hours.
