Jammu, May 27: Two persons including a driver were killed when a rashly driven mini bus plunged into River Tawi late night on Friday in the heart of the city here.
Police said that the mini bus on its way from old city from Gandhi Nagar area via fly over, lost its control and plunged into the river after breaking the boundary wall of the River Tawi bridge.
“Police and locals swung into action while JCB machines were also pressed into service to evacuate the injured persons,” they said.
Two persons on board, were immediately rushed to the hospital in a critical condition but they succumbed.
“The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained,” police added and said that the police teams are on the spot. UNI
