Jammu, Feb 01: The process of retrieval of state, custodian and other kind of land has been initiated by some honest officers and it has been monitored and guided by the Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anshul Garg IAS.
The Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anshul Garg has strictly directed all the Tehildars and all the Sub Divisional Magistrates of Jammu district to immediately swing into action. Some Tehsildars have taken the directions very seriously and entered into a struggle with land robbers. After Thesildar Bahu and Marh, the tehsildar Bhalwal too swung into action and 290 kanal and 1 marla state land got vacated from the land dacoits in three different places including village Agore, Jandyal and Ramgarh falling in Tehsil Bhalwal.
The land robbers are very shrewd and they have some connections with revenue officers so they know all tit-bits of the department. The corrupt section of the revenue department tells about the empty land to the land robbers and these corrupt revenue officers also tell them about the timing to encroach the land, so that they may occupy the land.
Today the illegal occupation of state land measuring 290 kanal has come in the notice of Tehsildar Bhalwal Ashok Chakarvarty and he in turn immediately swung into action and despatched teams to vacate the land.
The team included Naib Tehsildar, Girdawar and concerned Patwaris, who have taken action against the land grabbers. The revenue officers who have the part of anti-encroachment team must be awarded by the higher authorities and those Tehsildars who are still inactive must be served explanation with a warning.
