Mehta sahib do not delay, please act!
- It is right time for Lt Governor and Chief Secretary to immediately swing into action and hold the collar of corrupt officers and expose them publicly.
- The Corporation could not improve on the availability of vehicles as the overall fleet strength during the period from 2014-15 to 2018-19 decreased by 133 vehicles (14 percent), despite addition of 142 vehicles during the same period.

Jammu, Feb 01: How is it possible that without involvement of higher offices the Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation suffered the loss? How the crores of rupees can be siphoned off from the Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation without blessings of big officers? Why are not the senior officers of Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation taking action against responsible employees for the loss? Who will nail the process of incurring loss every year in Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation? These are very specific questions for the entire administration including Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary AK Mehta to pull the socks and throw out some corrupt and deadwood officers and officials from the Corporation.
The most intriguing part of the report is that CAG has detected a planned conspiracy to loot the money from the Corporation is, “The Corporation could not improve on the availability of vehicles as the overall fleet strength during the period from 2014-15 to 2018-19 decreased by 133 vehicles (14 percent), despite addition of 142 vehicles during the same period.” One can easily understand that how the officers have systematically looted the money and damaged the Corporation. Some of the officers are still in service and now it is the right time to handover the case to CBI to investigate the scam so that responsible officers may be exposed and the loss incurred to the Corporation may be recovered. Since today, the government must hold the retirement process and also stop preparing documents those who retired recently so that the lost money may be recovered from them. Even their property must be attached and auctioned to recover the losses.
The other scam has been performed in another way and it has been also highlighted in CAG report, ‘Fleet Operations during the period from 2014-15 to 2018-19 ranged between 51 percent and 50 percent and detention of vehicles of in workshop ranged between 29 percent to 44 percent. Percentage of idle vehicles increased from five percent to in 2014-15 to 19 percent in 2018-19.
These are very serious observations made by the CAG and it has been indirectly declared an open loot in the Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation but the most concerning thing is that no persons from higher authorities taking it seriously. Now the people are looking towards Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary AK Mehta to intervene in the issue and try to make a reform in Corporation, which is already on ventilator.
