District Rajouri police foils black marketing of GREF Bitumin

Rajouri, Nov 17: District Rajouri police on Tuesday has thwarted an attempt of black marketing of Bitumin meant for the use of General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF) in Nowshera tehsil in Rajouri district of J&K.
The police said, in the late evening hours on Tuesday information was received at the Nowshera police station that a Tipper of GREF carrying twenty-four barrels of Bitumin had entered the premises of a private mixing plant namely Krishna Hot Mixing Plant at Dandesar (Nowshera).
After information of suspicious movement of a GREF Tipper in Dandesar village, a police party headed by Inspector Pankaj Sharma, SHO rushed to the village.
The police party intercepted the Tipper at Krishna Hot Mixing Plant and seized the vehicle along with 24 barrels of Bitumin, which allegedly were sold to the owners of the plant.
The police also arrested Daleep Kumar (driver) and Rattan Sharma, co-driver both residents of Gambhir Brahmana.
According to the senior police officer, both have been booked under sections 109 & 409 IPC at Nowshera police station and the police have started an investigation to identify the persons involved in this network.
After/during the detailed investigation the arrest of others, including those associated with the plant, involved in the black marketing of GREF Bitumin can’t be ruled out, said sources.
