Jammu, Nov 17: Veteran actor Shakti Kapoor on Wednesday arrived here to shoot for his upcoming film ‘Gangwar 84’.
An official said that the film is being shot at the historic Mubarak Mandi Complex.
The actor reached Jammu in the afternoon and after a brief stay in a hotel, he reached Mubarak Mandi for the shoot.
‘Gangwar 84’ is based on true incidents.
People in large numbers assembled on the spot to have a glimpse of the Bollywood veteran actor.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on August 5 launched a special film policy to invite Bollywood to this region to revive tourism and also the picturesque destinations across the Union Territory.
Mubarak Mandi—a heritage complex is situated in the heart of the city.
Speaking to reporters later, Shakti Kapoor said that he had many memories associated with Jammu and Kashmir. “Coming to Jammu and Kashmir was like reliving my memories,” said the actor. He also recollected the memories of late actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis and the story of changing his name from Sunil Kapoor to Shakti Kapoor by them. UNI
