Guard Social Forestry Ghulam Ali responsible to foil timber smuggling bid, others are fake claimant
*It was not a joint operation to foil the bid of timber smuggling at Nagrota but it was the personal endeavour of the Guard Ghulam Ali who played on his life and his sons’ lives, he must be honoured on June 7, 2021.
*Fake claimant should be segregated from the honest Ghulam Ali as they are the persons who are responsible to sell the green gold of the J&K, let it be Khair man.
*The Chief Secretary AK Mehta IAS must take the cognizance of this episode as he himself is an honest person and in Forest departments there are many scabs sitting in Forest department.

The illegal felling of trees especially costly trees in the Forest department is not new thing or one can say that it is normal affair as some of the Forest officers are hand-in-glove with the smuggler on the basis of illegal partnership and they felicitate the timber smugglers and thieves to sell the green gold of Jammu but one Guard of Social Forestry namely Gulam Ali has foiled the bid of smugglers to smuggle the timber from Tok Wazira.
The Guard Ghulam Ali, who is really a honest official of the Social Forestry department has took this job as his personal job and not like others as the government job. On Sunday June 06, 2021 near about 11.20 pm at night he saw that seven persons with wood cutters have entered the closure with the intention to illegally cut and smuggle the wood of Khair trees, he decided to foil the bid. He immediately called his Ranger who failed to come to join the Ghulam Ali to save the timber from thieves. He then called his Forester but he could not attended the call as it was already very late night. He then called to another his fellow guard who too refused to join him to foil the bid of smugglers.
The hero of Social Forestry department felt himself lonely but he remained determined to foil the bid of wooden thieves and he called his two sons to come and extend support to him. Here I would like to mention that he has put the lives of his sons in danger for the departmental work but those who are drawing huge salaries have avoided him. His sons showed much intelligence and they came with other three youth and so five youth reached to help the Guard Ghulam Ali. The five youths were not employee of the Forest or its sister concern but they exhibited that they are responsible citizens not only of Jammu & Kashmir but the India. They all six person, keeping in mind to avert the smuggling and also avoid physical damage to anyone of them, they blocked the lane with heap of stones and till the smugglers return back. As on 4.13 am Monday (07-06-2021) the smugglers returning back to their destinations, they met with blockade and they came out from their vehicles. But they were pounced by the six persons and entered in scuffle. At the time of return they were only four persons in two cars, which were being used to smuggle the timber.
The four thieves fled from the scene leaving vehicle and the timber on the spot. Meanwhile at 4.20 am our correspondent also reached there and got everything black and white. Later then Forester Social Forestry department Bhagwan Dass reached on the spot at 4.35 am. Here I would mention that when the Forester Bhagwan Dass noticed the miss call from Guard Ghulam Ali in wee hours near about 3 am, he immediately called him back and got apprised. He then immediately tried to reach the spot from Bishnah and reached at the spot at near about 4.35 am.
The other fake claimant, who are claiming that it was a joint operation of Forest Department and Social Forestry must be interrogated by Crime Branch to ascertain the facts. At last, the powerful Ranger of Jammu Range Vijay Khosla also appeared as an emersion to mark his presence. He was supposed to keep a vigil on such illegal felling and smuggling but during his tenure there was an open loot of trees and timber. It is being allegedly believe that he has been appointed to devastate the Forest and not to protect the Forest.
The senior officers of Forest and Social Forestry department should open their eyes and recognize the real hero of June 7, Nagrota episode and those who are fake claimant must be shown door. Ghulam Ali must be rewarded who put the lives of his sons and relatives in danger for the cause of department. The senior officers who even do not know about 1800 kanal closure of Forest land Jagti Nagrota is a Forest land or private land must learn from Gurad Ghulam Ali let it be PCCF or others.
