Poonch, April 10, 2025 – In a decisive legal development, the Poonch Police has attached an immovable property measuring six kanals, belonging to one Mohd Bashir, son of Ghulam Din, a resident of Bagyal Dara, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch. This action was carried out in pursuance of the directives issued by the Hon’ble Court, under the ambit of Section 88 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
The aforementioned Mohd Bashir stands accused in connection with FIR No. 70/2000, registered at Police Station Poonch under Sections 2 and 3 of the Egress and Internal Movement (Control) Ordinance (E&IMCO). Subsequent to the registration of the case, the accused absconded across the Line of Control to Pakistan/PoJK and, despite protracted efforts by law enforcement agencies, has persistently evaded capture. Consequently, he was declared a proclaimed offender by the competent court of law.
In light of his continued fugitive status and deliberate evasion of the legal process, the Hon’ble Court invoked its authority to order the attachment of the absconder’s property. Acting swiftly and in strict conformity with the court’s mandate, the Poonch Police, in concert with the local revenue authorities, executed the attachment of the said immovable asset.
This stern measure signifies the unwavering resolve of the Poonch Police to uphold the sanctity of law and ensure that individuals who attempt to subvert justice by fleeing jurisdiction do not go unchecked. The law enforcement agencies reaffirm their commitment to bringing Mohd Bashir to justice, and sustained efforts to locate and apprehend him continue with undiminished vigour.
