Jammu, Mar 03: In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing fight against bovine smuggling, Jammu Police successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle cattle in Chowki Choura. The operation, carried out under the stringent Operation Kamdhenu, resulted in the rescue of three bovines and the seizure of one vehicle.
The police team from Police Post Chowki Choura, acting on a tip-off, set up a well-coordinated naka (checkpoint) and intercepted a suspicious vehicle – a Swift car bearing the registration number DL 9CX-5844. The driver, upon sensing the trap, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, leaving behind the three helpless bovines. This remarkable achievement is credited to the sharp judgment and strategic planning of SHO Akhnoor, Rohit Gandhi, and DSP Akhnoor, who meticulously executed the operation. Had it not been for their vigilance and expertise, the smuggling attempt would have succeeded. The vehicle was seized, and the bovines were rescued, preventing them from being illegally transported.
An FIR under the relevant sections of law has been filed at Police Station Akhnoor, and further investigations are underway to track down the culprits responsible for the crime.
The public has lauded the continuous efforts and unwavering commitment of the Jammu Police to crack down on bovine smugglers and curb such illegal activities. The police’s quick response and decisive action have reinforced public confidence in the force’s ability to maintain law and order.
This successful operation is yet another feather in the cap of Jammu Police’s relentless efforts to safeguard the region from such nefarious activities. The community continues to stand in solidarity with law enforcement as they work towards a crime-free and secure Jammu.
