Samba, Nov 26: In a major success as part of its ongoing crackdown on absconders and criminals, the Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended four individuals who had been evading arrest for nearly a decade. The absconders were wanted in connection with a case registered at Police Station Vijaypur in 2014.
The arrests were made by a dedicated police team from Vijaypur, led by Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Vijaypur. Acting on specific inputs and after sustained efforts, the team succeeded in apprehending the absconders, identified as, 1) Ali Hussain, son of Faroz Din; 2) Bali Mohammad, son of Ali Hussain; 3) Shoki, son of Bashir Kasana; and 4) Naseeb Ali, son of Ali Hussain, all residents of Rakh Barotain, Tehsil Vijaypur, District Samba.
The four accused were wanted in FIR No. 20/2014 under Sections 451, 323, and 147 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC). According to police sources, the individuals had been on the run since 2014, eluding arrest after their involvement in the registered case.
A decade-long chase ends: The breakthrough comes after years of meticulous tracking and strategic planning by the police to bring these offenders to justice. The absconders had managed to evade arrest using various means, but their luck ran out as the police intensified their efforts under the ongoing drive against absconders.
After their arrest, the accused were promptly produced before the court of law. The arrest warrants under Section 512 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), which had been issued against them, were duly executed.
The successful apprehension of these absconders has drawn praise from the local community, which had been long awaiting justice in the case. Police officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring that no criminal escapes accountability.
