Jammu, Oct 21: The Brahman Sabha Channi Himmat has initiated an inspiring green cover plantation drive across various sectors of Channi Himmat, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing the local ecosystem. The event was inaugurated by Sunil Sharma, National Coordinator of Akhil Bhartiya Dharam Prachar Sewa Samiti, alongside NMC President Subash Shastri and renowned social activist Bhoomi Chand Sharma.
During the inaugural ceremony, Sunil Sharma passionately urged the residents of Channi Himmat to actively participate in this vital initiative. He emphasized the crucial role of plants in combating pollution, which has reached alarming levels in urban areas. “Plants are the lifeline of our communities,” Sharma stated. “They help neutralize pollution, increase oxygen levels, and provide fresh air, mitigating the impacts of global warming, erratic rainfall, and poor air quality.” He encouraged everyone to plant at least two trees to foster a greener, healthier environment.
Kewal Krishan Sharma, another prominent figure at the event, underscored the importance of trees as natural habitats for birds and beneficial insects like honeybees. “It is imperative that we double our efforts in this tree plantation drive to combat the rising pollution levels,” he said, calling for immediate action.
Throughout the drive, a diverse array of saplings—including ornamental, herbal, and spiritually significant trees—were planted in parks and vacant spaces within the Channi Himmat colony. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from community members and local leaders, including Kuldeep Dubey, Manmohan Naradh, Ashok Khajuria, Yashpaul Khajuria, Vice President of Baba Ambo Dev Sthan, Vinod Sharma, Rohit Shastri, Rajinder Sharma, and many others.
This green initiative not only aims to beautify the area but also to instill a sense of responsibility toward nature among residents. The Brahman Sabha Channi Himmat is committed to fostering a pollution-free atmosphere and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
