Pilgrims bus attack: Two more suspects detained by J&K Police

Rajouri, June 18: Reasi district police during its extensive investigation into the alleged attack on pilgrims’ bus near Kanad in Pouni area on June 9, have detained several suspects who may be potentially involved in orchestrating the attack.
On Monday, a Nomad couple was detained by the senior officers of the Reasi police from Bandrai village of Sunderbani subdivision of Rajouri district.
Within 24 hours of the couple’s detention, a police team reportedly from Ransoo police station, investigating the attack on pilgrims’ bus, rounded up two more suspects from Bandrai village on Tuesday.
Reasi police reportedly have developed significant leads against those who allegedly had helped the terrorists to carry out an attack on pilgrims’ bus in which 7 pilgrims among 9 people were killed and 41 other pilgrims were injured on June 9.
The detention of these four persons of Bandrai village is linked with credible intelligence/technical inputs about their involvement in the attack on Pilgrims’ bus.
Nine people, including seven pilgrims among them a two-years-old boy, were killed and 41 others were injured in this terror attack on June 9.
After the attack on the pilgrim’s bus in Kanda area of Pouni police station, who were on their way to Vaishno Devi Shrine from Shiv Khori Temple (both in Reasi district), a joint operation headquarters of the police, Indian Army and CRPF was set up at the site and a multi-dimensional operation was launched to get the attackers.
