NC, PDP, Cong mislead people for self-interest: J&K BJP Chief

Jammu, Oct 4: Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina on Wednesday said that when whole of J&K was in deep turmoil, slumber, uncertainty and bloodshed, the leaders belonging to the Gupkar Alliance, never cared for the people’s welfare and never raised any call for “Dharna, Pradarshan” aimed to the welfare of the common masses.
“So now when the Jammu and Kashmir progresses on the path of development, when the people of the region are welcoming the process of peace and progress, these Congress, NC, PDP leaders are trying to vitiate the atmosphere by their “Dharna, Pradarshan” calls. Is it just not the deep conspiracy to create the unrest for their own individual petty political interests?” said Raina addressing a press conference here.
He attacked the opposition parties over protest call on October 10 and said that NC, Congress, PDP Leaders under Gupkar Alliance are engineering conspiracies against developing Jammu and Kashmir.
Raina accompanied by MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Minister Sat Sharma and former Minister and BJP NEM Priya Sethi said that opposition parties have planned a Dharna now. But the people want to know that when J&K was in dangerous situations and deep bloodshed, opposition was in deep slumber and never gave dharna then, why is it so?
“When whole of J&K was in middle of blackout and Dharnas, these political leaders never came on the streets and today when J&K is progressing on the path of peace and progress, fast paced development, prosperity, these Gupkar leaders are plotting to create unrest with each passing day,” he said adding, “feeling suffocated over the development, they just want to mislead innocent people.”
“Where were these Gupkar leaders, when Gujjar Bakkarwal were fighting for their rights, Pahadi people were fighting for justice, but Congress, NC, PDP never came on front. OBC community was fighting for their rights, but leaders like Abdullah, Mufti never asked for Dharna, Pradarshan then. West Pakistan Refugees, Gorkhas, Valmiki, and many other communities were being denied basic rights but these leaders were unmoved then.”
“Now, when Modi government is pursuing the agenda development, then these Gupkar leaders are getting unnerved. Today the brotherhood is being developed among all the regions and religions. More than 2 crore tourist footfall is there, why these people are getting unnerved over the progress. People across the faiths, communities, regions, professions are satisfied by the development measures. Schools. Colleges, universities are open. Whole of J&K is working well, but these leaders are not able to digest the happiness of people,” he said.
Raina further asked them the reasons to boycott the elections in 2018, then they boycotted these Urban Local Bodies elections in the city meant for development. These people never strengthened Panchayati Raj system. Panch Sarpanch were puppets in the system. They aways mislead the gullible population and misused the system for their own benefits.
“These parties are now creating false narratives to hoodwink the people of J&K”, said Raina.
“Today, J&K is on the path of new development. 2 new AIIMS, 8 medical colleges, ring roads, rail connectivity, express highways, tunnels, jal Jeevan mission, justice with every section, welfare of poor and this whole development is not being digested by these Gupkaris, who aim to halt the development process,” he said.
