District Rajouri police organised cricket & badminton tournaments under CAP

Rajouri, Feb 28: Deputy SP Ghani Sham Memorial Cricket Tournament & Badminton tournaments, organised by District Rajouri police under the supervision of SSP, Mohammad Aslam concluded on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
The cricket tournament was thrown open by SSP, Mohammad Aslam and on a concluding day, the final match was played between Sunderbani-A and Ahsan Warriors Rajouri.
The tournament was organised in memory of Shaheed Deputy SP Ghani Sham, a resident of village Kallar in Rajouri district who attained martyrdom in the service of the nation.
Team Sunderbani-A won the tournament. Piyush Sharma of Sunderbani team was awarded the Man of the Match trophy whereas Yasir Malik was adjudged Man of the Series.
The winning team was awarded a trophy and ?25,000/- cash prize, whereas the runner-ups took home a trophy and ?20,000/- cash reward.
DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, IPS who was the Chief Guest distributed prizes amongst the participants.
While addressing the participants DIG Dr. Haseeb Mughal said: “J&K Police is always at the forefront in youth engagement programs and more such events in different sports will be organised in the near future,”
He also requested the youth to participate in sports tournaments with full enthusiasm. SSP Rajouri, Mohd. Aslam, JKPS; Additional SP Rajouri, Vivek Shekhar, JKPS, and other officers of the district were also present on the occasion
Meanwhile, the Badminton Tournament organised at Sports Stadium Rajouri under Civic Action Program of J&K Police concluded today.
The winning team was rewarded with a trophy and cash price of Rs. 6000/-.
SSP, Mohd. Aslam, JKPS while interacting with the players during the award ceremony highlighted that J&K Police is always at the forefront of providing sports avenues to the youth and they must reap maximum benefits of these initiatives.
He also encouraged the youth to participate in sports for their holistic development. <
Deputy SP Hqrs Rajouri, Chanchal Singh was also present on the occasion.
