Day 33-Dhangri perpetrators still untraced; NIA team visited Dhangri

Rajouri, Feb 3: If reliable sources are to be believed, a high-level NIA team, reportedly an IG rank officer, on Friday visited Dhangri village and held a detailed discussion with the families of the seven people killed in the twin terror attacks.
The NIA team also visited the houses of the deceased persons and talked to the family members and reportedly enquired about the sequence of the terror attack, including details about the terrorist involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, family members/relatives of the deceased persons and the inhabitants of the area in resentment against the long delay in action against those involved in the Dhangri massacre have decided to sit on an indefinite hunger strike from February 5.
In this connection, a meeting was also organised in the village after the NIA team left the village to chalk out their strategy for the purposed hunger strike.
“A meeting of the people of the area will also be held on February 5 and on the spot further course of action, including a hunger strike, will be announced,” said Sarpanch Dheeraj Kumar.
Saroj Bala, the mother of Deepak and Prince, who were killed in the terror attack, has also expressed her resentment and alleged that the killers of our 7 people, including my two sons, are moving freely despite the passing of more than one month.
“I have lost my two sons in this terror attack. Even after more than one month, the killers are moving freely. I requested to Home Minister (on phone on January 13) to catch the killers soon but no action yet. So I have decided to sit on an indefinite hunger strike and will be joined by relatives/villagers,” said Saroj Bala.
“During m telephone conversation with the Union Home Minister I told him that I lost both my sons in this terror attack and I urged him to give us justice and give a strong reply to their killers,” she added.
It is pertinent to mention here that on January 13, Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled to visit the Dhangri village to meet the families of the victims of the terror attack but his visit was postponed due to inclement weather.
However, Home Minister spoke to the victim’s families over the phone and listened to them carefully.
Later, in the evening at Jammu, the Home Minister informed the media that the investigation into the terrorist attack (Dhangri) has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). He further said that both NIA and Jammu police will jointly investigate the incident.
“An NIA team headed by an IG rank officer on Friday visited Dhangri village. The team met with the families of the victims and the villagers and enquired about the terror attack,” said Sarpanch Dheeraj Kumar.
He also informed that a meeting has been called on February 5 and it has also been decided to start a hunger strike as the killers of our persons are still beyond the reach of SFs despite the Home Minister & Lt Governor promises of early action against them.
On the late evening hours on January 1, a group of two terrorists entered the village and opened indiscriminate firing on 4-6 houses situated in a radius of about 100 meters in the upper Dhangri village.
Four civilians were gunned down on January 1 while12 people were injured (out of which two minors succumbed to injuries) in an IED explosion that took place on January 2 at about 10.30 am and was planted by the terrorists outside the house of one among the deceased persons to cause further loss of lives.
