LG congratulates Rajouri teenager for making it to the U-19 Indian cricket team

Jammu, Dec 1:  A day after two cricketers from Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Samad and Umran Malik were retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the next IPL season, a teenager from bordering district of Rajouri, Amaan Zari has been selected for Under-19 Indian cricket team for the 4- Nations Cup that is to be played in Dubai.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has congratulated the cricketer on his selection.
“Congratulations to Amaan Zari, our promising cricketer from Rajouri on his selection in the under-19 cricket team for the 4- Nations Cup to be played in Dubai. It is a joyous moment for J&K,” Office of the Lieutenant Governor tweeted.
“His grit and determination has helped him realise his dream,” he further said in the tweet.
Meanwhile speaking to reporters in Rajouri, Zari, 17, a resident of Ward 09 Rajouri is the first youngster from Rajouri who will represent India at the highest level.
“It was my dream to represent the country at the international stage which has come true but now my aim is to perform well and in the coming time get a spot in the Indian cricket team,” he said.
Indian star cricketers Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and Mohammed Shami are his inspiration and he hoped that he will prove his mettle in the coming series. UNI
