Wushu Academy takes home Jammu District C’ship trophy

Jammu, Nov 24: The Academy of Wushu on Wednesday bagged overall champions trophy in the Jammu District Wushu Championship held at Bhagwati Nagar based Sports Indoor Hall.
As per communiqué, more than 250 players from different schools and clubs participated in the championship.
Academy of Wushu remained overall champion while Khelo India Wushu Centre, Bhagwati Nagar dominated the medal tally, R S Pura team claimed the third spot and another Khelo India Centre secured second position.
Wushu Association of J&K president Vijay Saraf presented the medals to the winners at the closing ceremony along with Dronacharya Awardee, Kuldeep Handoo.
Saraf requested the J&K Sports Council for provision of the best equipment to the players and sanction of national and UT academy for the sports.
Kuldeep Handoo congratulated the organising team for providing a platform for the wushu aspirants across the Jammu district.
He assured that he will be guiding and giving his best to the wushu athletes in the UT of J&K and assured that UT has got potential in wushu and in coming years the sport will be giving medals at the highest level of International arena.
He thanked the J&K Sports Council for the support. UNI
