Protest held at Rajouri against Ex-MLC BJP for hurting sentiments of majority community

Rajouri, Nov 1: Islamic Welfare Association (IWO) held a mass protest demonstration here at Rajouri to express strong resentment against ex- MLC of BJP Vikram Randhawa for making derogatory remarks against a particular community.

Vikram Randhawa, who is also BJP in-charge for Rajouri as per the leaders of IWO, has given an objectionable statement against the community and the speakers demanded that he must be booked under relevant sections of the law.

Shafqat Mir, Tazim Dar, Asif Bhat & others who addressed the protesters said that Ex-MLC BJPhas in a viral video on social media network was speaking against the Nimaz, Islam and Kashmiri Muslims which is not acceptable and must apologise.

They asked the BJP leaders of Rajouri & Poonch districts to come out clearly about their policies. “If the FIR was not lodged against ex-MLC, then our protest will spread over to block & tehsil level as he had played with our sentiment”

These leaders have appealed to the people to protest peacefully and maintain communal harmony.

In a Tweet, social activist Guftar Ahmed demanded that Vikram Randhawa should be booked for hurting the religious sentiments of Muslims.

Farooq Inqalabi, Social activist has requested SSP Jammu to book Ex-MLC for hate speech ,using derogatory remarks against Muslim women and hurting the sentiments of Muslim community.

Meanwhile, BJP Disciplinary Committee has sought explanation from Ex-MLC for his derogatory/abusive language.

“In a video you are seen making absolutely reckless and hatred promoting remarks against a particular community. This is unacceptable to party & has brought embarrassment. Party president/Disciplinary Committee has taken a very serious view& Vour are directed to explain your position within 48 hours” read notice.

BJP also advised Ex-MLC for a public apology in this matter & also banned not to talk to media till proceedings are pending against him.
