Rajouri, Oct 26: Rajouri Police Administration on Monday felicitated a number of police martyr families during an event organised at the Manjakot police station.
The event was organised under the direction of the District Police Office under the supervision of Tanveer Jeelani, SDPO Manjakot.
“A number of family members of police martyrs were present in the event. The police officers interacted with them & discussed a number of issues, especially related to welfare schemes being run by the government for them” said the police.
Family members of the martyrs were assured about the best possible assistance on every front by the J&K Police Parivar.
Meanwhile, Budhal police on Tuesday foiled an attempt of smuggling of narcotics and have arrested a man along with about 9 grams of heroin-like substance.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Khaliq resident of Phalni and has been booked under sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act at Budhal police station.
The police said during routine patrolling in the Draj area, a team from Budhal police station noticed the accused attempting to evade the police party suspiciously.
He was apprehended by the cops and during frisking 9 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Mohd Khaliq was arrested and the police have started further investigation.
