The J&K Traffic Police yesterday organized a drive to make the two-wheeler owners aware of the importance of helmets for both the driver and the pillion rider. If the pillion rider is caught for not wearing the helmet, then the driver will be fined 1000 rupees.
The traffic police also appealed that the parents should not allow their children below 18 years to drive any vehicle. If anyone is caught, then along with the seizing of the car, the violator has to pay a fine of up to 25,000 rupees. Also, an FIR will be registered under which the violator may face jail for three years.
The traffic police also requested not to park cars on the road which result in traffic jams. Many times ambulances and fire services vehicles get stuck in traffic jams. If any vehicle is found parked in the No Parking area, the car will be towed, and the violator has to pay a fine of 5,000 rupees.
