Jagti Nagrota Forest scam!
Instead of action Forest department constitutes committee to enquire illegal felling
*The PCCF should have taken the GPS photos as prima facie and ordered the suspension of Ranger Jammu Range Vijay Khosla, Forester and Guards in one stroke of his pen, whereas the DFO Jammu is already on suspended animation but the action missed here too.
*The order of constituting the committee has missed the directions to the enquiring officers, which have mentioned like, “All the members would physically visit every inch of the 1800 kanal Forest closure to detect every illegal felling from the said spot.”
*The scammers is so shrewd that he cut the Khair trees which were surrounded by bushes so that the detection of stumps would get tough and remained unnoticed.
Jammu, May 30:
Forest department has constituted a committee to enquire into the scam of illegal felling of Khair trees from the Forest land Nagrota Jagti which is hardly only 11 kilometres from the office of Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu, which is a matter of serious concern and it is also a great exposure that Forest department has lost its credibility and turned into a worthless institution.
It was the staff of Jammu Jottings who detected the scam of illegal felling of Khair trees from the Jagti Nagrota Forest land comprising of a closure of 1800 Kanals and highlighted in news item but on the other hand entire staff of Forest department from Guard to Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu & Kashmir have been substantiated that they are worthless and only consuming the salary of the government.
The constituting of such committees may be departmental procedure or departmental compulsion but in past it has been seen that such committees have consumed much time and remained worthless, besides giving ample time and safe passage to the culprits, who are involved in big scams. Particularly, in this case the committee was not needed at first instant but the black and white action was needed immediately. Whereas, the said committee should be made bound to visit physically every inch of the forest closure comprising of 1800 kanals at Jagti Nagrota to detect all stumps of illegally felled Khair trees. There are reports that more than 150 Khair trees have been illegally felled by the scammers and this was very much in the knowledge of Ranger Jammu Range Vijay Khosla but he remained a top player in this case.
The order of the Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu says that the committee has been constituted to enquire the allegations levelled of illegal felling of Khair trees at Forest land at Jagti Nagrota. I will try to explain the Mr K Ramesh Kumar Chief Conservator of Forest Jammu that it is not mere allegations levelled but with the usage of latest technology GPS system the photos have been taken which is legally accepted technology and beyond any doubt. It is completely substantiated case, which has brought to limelight by the Jammu Jottings and was supposed to do by the office CCF but his office completely failed to discharge the duty for which they are being paid.
The news was with such evident that the action was required at first hand then the committee was to be constituted to ascertain the more illegal felling of Khair trees in the forest land of 1800 kanal closure at Jagti Nagrota. This matter was so clear that PCCF has taken this news as prima facie and Ranger Jammu range and other staff should be held responsible for this scam and kept in suspension animation till the committee enquire the issue and submit its report. It is beyond to understand that why not suspension of Ranger Vijay Khosla, concerning Forester and Guards have been ordered till now, which indicates some suspicious is going on in the higher offices of Forest to save the scammers.
The committees constituted to enquire the issue comprises of four members including DFO Kathua as a chairman, DFO Urban Forestry Division Jammu as a member, Deputy Director Forest Protection Flying Squad Jammu as a member and Mr Tariq Bashir Ahmed Technical Officer office of Conservator of Forest East Circle Jammu.
