Police Akhnoor today achieved a major success when it arrested a notorious drug peddler. On intervening night of 28/29.03.2021, police party of Police Station Akhnoor headed by PSI Baljeet Singh recovered/seized 130 kg poppy straw (like a substance narcotic drugs) from a vehicle Maruti car 800 bearing registration number JK02 AE-5732 at Mund Tehsil Maira Mandrian while the unknown culprits fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness. On this case FIR No 86/2021 US 8/15/21 NDPS Act registered at PS Akhnoor. A special team headed by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Ravi Parihar was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial. After hectic efforts, the accused person was arrested today namely Babu Ram son of Mangu Ram resident of W No 2 Deta Pabar Tehsil & District Reasi who accepted to the commission of offense and disclosed that he along with one other person were in possession of the said contraband which was meant for selling purpose. The search of other accused person is going on. The whole operation is being carried out under the supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
