Harjot Singh and Tahira were nominated as Presidents of Boys and Girls Units respectively
Jammu Mar 15th: – Jammu Joint Students’ Federation (JJSF) organized a simple but impressive joining programme at GDC RS Pura. The programme was organized under the leadership of Advocate Pushvinder Singh (President JJSF, JKUT) who was accompanied by Rakesh Khajuria, General Secretary, J&K Wrestling Association and Sunil Chauhan, Provincial President, JJSF.
Delivering the welcome address on the occasion Sunil Chauhan said that JJSF has history that it has led various agitations against the successive governments for discriminating Jammu. He said that JJSF always stood against injustice with Jammu region in general and student community in particular. He assured all the students of the college that JJSF will work shoulder to shoulder with them for the welfare of students’ community.
Addressing the students of GDC R S Pura, Advocate Pushvinder Singh said that JJSF is the only non-political student organization which is working on ground for the welfare and upliftment of student community of Jammu region. He said that now-a-days it has become the trend of the successive governments of the state to ignore the Dogras of Jammu in every sphere whether it is in education, in employment, in development, in tourism sector or in any other field. He said that JJSF led many agitations successfully few of those are SKUAST-J agitation, MBBS/BDS agitation of 1998, Evening Colleges Agitation in 2000, Central University agitation, AIIMS agitation, etc.
He further said that JJSF will raise all students concerned issues and will do their best to get them all addressed. He said that re-organization of Jammu and Kashmir had brought lots of expectations for student community and youth of Jammu but unfortunately the jammuites are getting same step motherly treatment like previous successive governments. He said that JJSF will fight tooth and nail to get due share in jobs for youth of Jammu. He said that Youth of Jammu and Kashmir have studied under militancy affected atmosphere and it is not possible for them to compete with the youth of other states in recruitment. He said government should understand and should announce a special recruitment package for youth of Jammu and Kashmir and should further fix a reservation quota of 90% for youth of Jammu and Kashmir in Jobs of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Meanwhile, a unit for GDC RS Pura was announced, where Harjot Singh was nominated as College President for boys, Tahira was nominated as Girls President of College, Sourav Sharma as Vice-President, Aman Sharma, Abhjot Singh and Akash Verma as General Secretaries, Sarabjeet Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Abhinav Sharma as Secretaries, Baranwal Singh and Daljeet Singh as Co-ordinators.
Newly nominated members of the unit said that JJSF is the only organization which always fought for the cause of Jammu and had fought many historical agitations for the people of Jammu and this was the only reason that they decided to join JJSF. They further assured the JJSF leaders that they shall leave no stone unturned in fighting against the discrimination with Jammu under the banner of JJSF.
