Marvelous architecture constructed but loop and poop holes are far too many
*The newly marvelous looking building constructed by JDA could not counter the first rain since its completion and flatly surrendered before the rain and rain water trickled inside the building.
*The matter of leakage in much-publicized five-storey multi-utility complex at General Bus Stand Jammu has put the people in quandary and it is the time for JDA to introspect as there are many lacunas.
*The Lt Governor must take the cognizance of leakage issue in newly created Multistoried General Bus Stand with parking and identify officials responsible for it.

Jammu, Jan 18:
JDA had all the right ideas of having multistoried parking at General Bus Stand Jammu but the idea was washed away with the onslaught of first rain after its completion. Beautiful designing was well planned? But the now dew drops are coming in at a great velocity. The apparels are great and from the top it looks a wonder but under the pile of multiple storey’s lacunas are far too many! The whole thing is leaking? Why and how is not known but if dug deep many wrongs have taken place otherwise the concrete should have withstood the first onslaught of rains, many have yet to arrive!. Incidentally the complex could not since water is logged and that too woefully. Multi storeyed construction was a great thing that happened but at the moment it is nothing but wastage of money wholesome. The props are put marking JDA are appreciable but they cannot hide faults which are far too many. Rest is up in the script since this structure in long time analysis is weak and dangerous! May be I’m wrong but if my visibility is correct then I’m absolutely right!
The issue of leakage is not insignificant that it should be ignored by the authorities but it should be viewed seriously by the higher authorities and the loopholes should be plugged to save the image of JDA. The people of Jammu have lost faith on the performance and intention of Jammu Development Authority and the credentials of JDA are under the clouds of doubt.
The time has come that the Jammu Development Authority and administration to come out from the deep slumber to put the things on right track. The leakage has put the question mark on the entire J&K administration in general and on Jammu Development Authority in particular as the crores of rupees have been spent on the prestigious mega bus stand Jammu.
The Lt Governor Mr Manoj Sinha is very particular to contain the such loopholes which can bring the bad name for the government and he would surely wreak a surgical strike on the corrupt practices going on in JDA after knowing the fact that despite spending huge money the roof of one of the floor has leaked in the onslaught of first rain of two days, which is matter of deep concern and put the expectations of people in shamble.
It is pertinent to mention that it was a prestigious mega Jammu Bus Terminal project on BC Road being constructed on a pattern of ISBT New Delhi and Ahmedabad with the huge amount worth hundred crores. Having a capacity to accommodate 80 buses and 1312 cars/ jeeps, this five-storey multi-utility complex being raised on 54 kanals of area, with 6.5 lakh square feet concrete building, has been housed at the Old General Bus Stand site by shifting all the buses and other workshops and many shops to some other locations. It will give new facelift to the old Jammu Bus Stand and the entire site with grand multi-storey complex having a large shopping Mall at the top and second top floors of the building and direct connectivity to historic Shri Raghunath Ji Temple Road at Hari Market.
While ground floor of the complex would provide accommodation to the eighty buses, mostly operating to Katra Mata Vaishnodevi, Reasi, Udhampur, Ramban, Banihal, Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Ramnagar etc, the next three storeys of the building would be meant for the parking of over 1300 cars and jeeps. Within the complex, there will be a taxi stand of the capacity of 300 taxies and an auto-rikshaw stand to accommodate 180 three wheelers.
There will be a grand shopping complex in the same complex where some shopkeepers displaced from the old site would be accommodated while rest of the shops in the Mall would be put to general auction to meet the expenditure on account of construction of this grand complex. The agency, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Department (J&K) has created a dedicated Division for the completion of this prestigious Jammu project. A total two years time has been given to the Mumbai based agency, M/s Shahpoorji Pallanji & Col Pvt Ltd (SPCPL), a sister concern of AFCON India Pvt Ltd.
