Rajouri, August 19: A BSF constable, identified as constable Namely Narote Ganpat of 182 Bn, received an injury in an accidental weapon discharge at a forward post in Balnoi area in Mendhar subdivision of Poonch district at about 2 pm on Tuesday.
The incident occurred when Constable Ganpat was cleaning his weapon, reportedly after discharging his duty.
BSF sources said Ganpat was immediately shifted to the Medical Inspection (MI) Room of the Army unit at Balnoi for first aid.
After first aid at the Army’s Medical Inspection Room, BSF constable Namely Narote Ganpat was shifted to Army 150 General Hospital at Rajouri for specialised treatment, where his condition remains stable.
