Two soldiers, including a JCO, were injured

Rajouri, July 25: An Agniveer of the 7 JAT Regiment was martyred, and two other soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were seriously injured in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district on Friday (July 25), while on patrol in a forward area.
Sources said the explosion occurred in the afternoon near Victor Post in Salotri village when a member of an area domination patrol inadvertently stepped on an abandoned anti-personnel mine-reportedly displaced due to heavy rains-as part of the anti-infiltration mechanism.
The martyred Agniveer has been identified as Lalit Kumar.
In a post on X, the White Knight Corps said:
“The GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks pay solemn tribute to Agniveer Lalit Kumar of 7 JAT Regiment, who made the supreme sacrifice while on an area domination patrol in the general area of Krishna Ghati Brigade on 25 July 2025, following a mine blast. We stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.”
The injured soldiers, Naib Subedar Hari Ram and Havildar Gajendra Singh, have been airlifted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur for specialised treatment.
Reports indicate that the area was mined to prevent infiltration from the Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) side, and the soldiers accidentally entered the hazardous zone.
