Op Sheruwali Rajouri Day-8: Terrorist Hideout Busted; No Contact with Terrorists

Rajouri, May 30: Security forces achieved a significant breakthrough on Saturday evening during the ongoing anti-terror operation, Operation Sheruwali, in the Dorimal forests of Manjakote sector in Rajouri district.
During an extensive search operation, security personnel discovered a natural hideout allegedly being used by terrorists in the Rayan area of the Dorimal forest, which falls under the jurisdiction of Manjakote Police Station.
A thorough search of the site led to the recovery of several items, including food supplies, a gas cylinder, a gas stove, and a head pan (tasla) commonly used for carrying soil. Officials believe the recovered material indicates that the hideout had been used recently and may have served as a shelter for suspected terrorists for some time. The nature of the supplies suggests the militants had made preparations to sustain themselves in the forest for an extended period. All recovered items have been seized by the Rashtriya Rifles battalion and secured for further investigation and forensic examination. Sources said the information gathered from the hideout and recovered materials is expected to help security forces intensify the ongoing operation and narrow down the movement of the terrorists.
Earlier during the operation, security forces had also busted another hideout and recovered items believed to have been used by terrorists.
Operation Sheruwali was launched on May 23 following intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the Dorimal-Gambhir Mughlan area. A joint team of the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been conducting a massive cordon-and-search operation in the dense forest belt.
Despite sustained efforts over the past eight days, security forces have not yet established fresh contact with the terrorists. Search operations are continuing.
