Keeping passenger convenience and service in mind during this intense summer season, the railway administration has taken another important and commendable initiative at Jammu Tawi Railway Station. A high-quality ice cream parlour facility is being launched for passengers at the station premises from June onwards, to provide immediate relief to travelers from the scorching sun and sweltering heat.
Sharing official details of this new facility, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Shri Uchit Singhal, said in his official statement:
“The railway administration is fully committed to providing better and comfortable travel experiences to our esteemed passengers in every season. Jammu is currently experiencing severe heat, and this special initiative has been taken with the objective of providing coolness and relief to passengers arriving at and departing from the station, especially small children, women, and the elderly. Quality ice cream from reputed and approved brands will be made available at prescribed rates.
Efforts are underway to gradually make this facility available at all railway stations of the division.
Looking at passenger needs, expansion of such passenger-centric facilities will continue in the future as well.”
Major Relief for Long-Distance Passengers
Thousands of devotees visiting Mata Vaishno Devi and tourists from across the country arrive at Jammu Tawi Railway Station daily. The availability of cold and quality ice cream within the station premises itself will prove extremely accessible and comfortable for passengers while waiting for trains or after completing long-distance journeys.
Passenger Amenities Among Railway’s Priorities
Special attention will be paid to cleanliness and quality standards at the ice cream parlour. Necessary arrangements are being made to ensure prompt service to passengers even during train halts and peak hours at the station. This will provide a better and more enjoyable experience for local passengers as well as those arriving from distant places.
