Jammu: Cluster University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Udheywala, jointly celebrated National Youth Day, with great enthusiasm and reverence. The programme was organised to commemorate the birth anniversary and timeless ideals of Swami Vivekananda, aiming to inspire young minds towards nation-building, character formation and selfless service to society.
The event was graced by Mr Rajeev Khajuria, Joint Commissioner (Administration), Jammu Municipal Corporation, as the Chief Guest, who lauded the role of youth in shaping a strong and progressive nation. He exhorted students to imbibe the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, emphasising discipline, moral strength and social commitment as the cornerstones of a meaningful life.
Students from various schools and constituent colleges of the Cluster University of Jammu participated with remarkable zeal. The celebrations featured soulful patriotic songs and thought-provoking speeches highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, his contribution to spiritual awakening, social reform and national integration. The performances were widely appreciated by the organisers as well as the audience for their depth, clarity and inspiring message.
In recognition of their active participation and commendable presentations, participation certificates were awarded by Swami Yajnadharananda Ji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, who also addressed the gathering and underscored the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in contemporary times.
The participation of students was organised under the guidance of Prof DS Manhas, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, who appreciated the collaborative initiative and encouraged students to remain actively involved in programmes that foster moral values, patriotism and social responsibility.
The event proved to be spiritually uplifting and intellectually stimulating, leaving a lasting impression on the participants and reaffirming the timeless appeal of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals among the youth.
