Akhnoor Witnesses Grand Tiranga Rally, Honours Martyrs and Celebrates National Unity

Akhnoor, Aug 13: In a spectacular display of patriotism ahead of Independence Day, Akhnoor today witnessed a massive Tiranga Rally organised by the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Akhnoor, Sh. Mukhtar Ahmed Lone. The rally brought together citizens from all walks of life to honour the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs and reaffirm their commitment to national unity.
MLA Akhnoor, Sh. Mohan Lal Bhagat graced the rally as the Chief Guest. Starting with the unfurling of the tricolour, the procession passed through the bazaars of Akhnoor, filling the air with patriotic slogans and the vibrant colours of the national flag.
Prominent dignitaries included Tehsildar Akhnoor Naresh Kumar, EO Akhnoor Mohammed Yaqoob, BDO Akhnoor Sushil Singh, Former MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma, Mandal Akhnoor President Depesh Singh, Rakesh Malhotra, Daljit Singh Chib, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, and Jugal Dogra, Principal GHSS Akhnoor Musrat Jabeen, former councillors, Sarpanches, Panches, students, and large contingents from the local administration.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Mohan Lal Sharma said, “Today, as we march together under the shade of our national flag, we remember the countless brave hearts who laid down their lives so that India could breathe the air of freedom. Each stripe of the Tiranga carries their courage, each colour reflects their sacrifice, and each flutter in the wind reminds us of our responsibility to safeguard this hard-earned liberty. Akhnoor has always been a land of valour and sacrifice, and today’s rally is a testament that our people remain committed to the ideals of unity, brotherhood, and service to the nation. Let us pledge to pass on this spirit to our children so they grow as proud and responsible citizens of India.”
BJP Mandal Akhnoor President Depesh Singh, in his address, said, “The Tiranga is not just a piece of cloth; it is the soul of our nation. Every freedom fighter’s dream, every soldier’s sacrifice, and every citizen’s hope are woven into it. Today, Akhnoor’s youth, elders, and administration have come together as one family to honour our martyrs and strengthen the foundation of a strong, united India.”
Students from various schools participated in large numbers, carrying flags and chanting slogans. Refreshments were served, and the rally concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, as the tricolour soared high against the August sky.
