OP SHIVSHAKTI: Indian Army Foils Major infiltration bid in Poonch, neutralises 2 Terrorists & Recovers huge cache of Arms

Poonch: In a meticulously coordinated counter-terrorism operation, Indian Army troops launched Operation ShivShakti in the Poonch Sector during the early hours of 30 July 2025. The operation was precipitated by credible and actionable intelligence, developed through a seamless and synchronised effort between military and civil intelligence agencies in close collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Police. The intelligence inputs indicated the presence of heavily armed terrorists in the vicinity, allegedly attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC).
Acting with alacrity and precision, the security forces established well-planned ambushes along the most probable infiltration routes. A fierce and intense exchange of fire ensued in the pre-dawn hours, culminating in the neutralisation of two terrorists. The swift and surgical execution of the operation led to the recovery of a substantial cache of war-like stores, thereby thwarting a potential threat without incurring any collateral damage or endangering civilian life.
Among the recovered items were two assault rifles replete with ammunition, one pistol with ammunition, multiple hand grenades, two sophisticated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), communication apparatus, medical supplies, and other logistics-related stores. The magnitude and variety of the recovered materials strongly suggest that the terrorists were equipped for a protracted confrontation and intended to establish a prolonged disruptive presence in the region.
Operation ShivShakti exemplifies the exceptional synergy, operational coherence, and unwavering resolve of the Indian Army and associated security forces in their continued pursuit to uphold peace, territorial integrity, and civilian safety in Jammu and Kashmir.
This successful interdiction constitutes a significant setback to the malevolent agendas of Pakistan-sponsored terrorist entities that persistently attempt to destabilise the region through orchestrated acts of terror. Comprehensive search operations are currently underway in the adjacent areas to eliminate any residual threats and ensure complete sanitisation of the terrain.
