Megalomaniac Manan Anand Crushes Scooterist in Cold Blood – Father Detained, Manhunt Launched

Jammu, Jul 28: In a horrifying display of unchecked rage, power intoxication, and criminal mindset, a young man identified as brat Manan Anand, son of Rajinder Anand, turned a busy city road into a crime scene when he deliberately ran over a scooter rider in broad daylight near Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar. The gruesome act, caught on CCTV, has sent shockwaves across the city and ignited public outrage.
The incident occurred around 1:30 PM on July 27, 2025, when Manan, driving a Mahindra Thar (JK02DP-9594), allegedly first collided with a scooty (JK02BS-6435) near Allora Textiles, knocking the elderly rider to the ground. What followed has been described as nothing short of attempted murder – Manan, instead of helping the injured man, reversed his SUV at speed and crushed him again, in what is being viewed as a deliberate and demonic act.
The critically injured victim was rushed to GMC Jammu by bystanders, while the accused fled the scene. As per SHO Gandhi Nagar Arun Sharma, a case was registered under FIR No. 163/2025 under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and initial investigations were launched immediately.
With CCTV footage and eyewitness testimony now confirming the intentional nature of the act, police have invoked Section 109 of the BNS, treating the case as a premeditated attempt to murder. The SUV has been seized, and a mechanical examination is underway. Meanwhile, the father of the accused has been taken into custody, while Manan remains absconding. A massive manhunt has been launched to nab the runaway accused.
Sources confirm the case is being personally monitored under the supervision of SDPO South and SP South, with all legal, forensic, and procedural angles being rigorously pursued.
Adding to the public fury, social activist Jaspal Singh condemned the incident in the strongest possible words, saying,
“This is no less than terrorism. People like Manan Anand are a threat to humanity. He should be sentenced to death, and his parents must be booked for supporting such a heinous act. Public shaming is necessary. The viral video is chilling – even family members of such criminals are not safe from their monstrous mindset.”
He further stated that the law must make an example out of such elements so that the roads of Jammu-and the conscience of society-are not violated again by the arrogance of unchecked privilege.
Jammu Police has urged the public to come forward with any information on the whereabouts of the accused and reiterated its resolve to ensure swift, strict, and exemplary justice.
