Rajouri, June 29: A resident of Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) was apprehended by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel from a forward area in the Gambhir-Manjakote sector of Rajouri district while attempting to enter Indian territory near the Line of Control (LoC).
The individual has been identified as Mohammad Arib Ahmed (22), son of Mohammad Yousaf, a resident of Datote village in Kotli district of PoJK.
Alert BSF troops of the Rajouri Battalion intercepted him as he tried to intrude into the forward area along the LoC. During a preliminary search and interrogation, BSF personnel
recovered a Pakistani mobile phone, Pakistani currency amounting to PKR 20,000, and two lighters from his possession.
Sources in the BSF stated that the possibility of him being a guide for terrorists cannot be ruled out.
His detention has triggered a high-level investigation involving central and state intelligence agencies to ascertain the motive behind his infiltration attempt and determine any potential links to cross-border terror networks.
Further interrogation is underway.
