POONCH, 12 APRIL, In a pivotal move aimed at augmenting road safety protocols and streamlining vehicular flow on the strategically vital Mughal Road, Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic Rural Jammu), Mr.G L Sharma, along with District Traffic Inspector Poonch, Pawan Kumar, SOT Surankote, undertook a comprehensive inspection visit to the high-altitude corridor of Pir Ki Gali today.
The high-level visit was intended to evaluate the existing traffic infrastructure, identify logistical impediments confronting commuters, and initiate actionable measures to enhance traffic regulation across this critical and frequently congested route, which is susceptible to both heavy traffic and adverse weather conditions.
During the inspection, SSP Traffic, G L Sharma meticulously examined the road’s condition, assessed the strategic positioning of traffic personnel, and reviewed the adequacy of signage and precautionary installations. He issued unequivocal directives to on-ground officers to maintain heightened vigilance and adopt a proactive stance, particularly in light of the ongoing tourist influx and transportation season.
The delegation engaged in constructive dialogue with local residents, commercial drivers, and transport stakeholders to gain nuanced insights into the on-ground challenges. Emphasis was laid on the imperative of adhering to traffic norms, especially given the geographical and climatic adversities of the Pir Ki Gali region.
