Rajouri, April 2: As part of its ongoing crackdown on drug-related crimes, the Rajouri police, on Wednesday, attached/seized property worth approximately Rs 53 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The property, including a three-story residential building in Ward No. 2, Rajouri, and a car, belongs to notorious drug peddler Haroon Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid.
A police team from Rajouri police station, led by the Station House Officer and under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters, Rajouri, took action following a thorough inquiry.
The property was identified as illegally acquired through proceeds from the narcotics trade.
Acting swiftly, the Rajouri Police invoked Section 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, leading to the attachment/seizure of the said properties.
This stringent action highlights the Rajouri Police’s firm resolve to eliminate the drug menace and dismantle the financial networks supporting the illicit drug trade.
