The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajouri has suspended six operators responsible for Aadhaar card enrollment and updates due to reported irregularities.
These operators have been barred from carrying out any Aadhaar-related work.
Acting on the DC’s instructions, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Sandeep Kumar Sharma immediately suspended the six operators, putting a halt to their operations.
It has been reported that a few days ago, the Project Manager of UIDAI for Jammu and Kashmir provided crucial information to the district administration regarding discrepancies in Aadhaar card processing.
Following this, DC Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, conducted a review meeting, where it was discovered that there were large-scale complaints against the Aadhaar operators. These complaints indicated that a significant number of Aadhaar cards had incorrect dates of birth due to errors committed by the operators during the enrollment and update process.
Tampering with the date of birth while issuing or updating Aadhaar cards is a serious violation of Aadhaar regulations.
Taking strict action on the matter, six operators working at different locations, including Thannamandi, Government High School Chingus, ICDS Darhal, Child Development Project Office Kalakote, and Triyath, have been suspended.
Additionally, the Social Welfare Department and the District Statistics and Evaluation Department have been instructed to retrieve the Aadhaar kits issued to these operators and immediately deactivate their IDs.
Furthermore, the concerned tehsildars have been directed to investigate the work of these operators and submit a report within two days.
