Poonch , 07:March:2025 A One day symposium on the theme of “Caring for your Colleague Campaign against Drug Abuse” was held in Government Degree College Poonch by District Police Poonch on the directions of SSP Poonch Shafket Hussain JKPS in collaboration with the Anti Drug Committee of GDC Poonch.
Mohan Sharma Add. SP Poonch was the Chief Guest on the occassion, DySP Hqrs Poonch Sh Neeraj Sharma, Dr. Jasbir Singh Principal GDC Poonch, Dr Azam Principal Govt Degree College Mendhar along with other faculty members and a large number of students were also presented on the occasion in which students of the college participated in the symposium & presented detailed views on the drugs abuse.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Mohan Sharma Add. SP Poonch that todays program is initiative under “Caring for your Colleague Campaign against Drug Abuse by Poonch police. He called upon students to stay away from drug abuse and allied activities for a better future. He gave comprehensive information on various aspects of drug abuse, including its impact on health, addiction, risk factors, prevention strategies, community support, legal consequences, and avenues for recovery.
He further asked students to help spread awareness about drug abuse and focus on studies to achieve their dreams.
Principal Dr. Jasbir Singh Principal GDC Poonch in his address appreciated the efforts of the District Police Poonch in eradicating the menace of drug abuse in District Poonch. She also spoke about the ill effects of intoxicants and opioids on the human body.
Participants namely Ms. Naima Rather, Ms. Salma Aga & Mr. Mohd Rizwan bagged the 1st, 2nd & 3rd position respectively.
