Surinder Kumar reviews ongoing Irrigation works, Directs immediate action for full capacity restoration.
Jammu, 15th Feb: MLA Marh, Surinder Kumar, conducted an extensive visit today to various tributaries and distributaries, including Bawa Talab to Jaswan and Lalyal to No. 1 Sua Head, to assess the current status of irrigation infrastructure in the region.
During his visit, Surinder Kumar also inspected the Ranbir Canal head near the Steel Bridge in Akhnoor, where work is in progress to clear the long-pending blockage at the Chenab outflow point. He emphasized the urgency of restoring the canal to its full capacity to ensure uninterrupted water supply to farmers and communities dependent on irrigation.
While interacting with officials and engineers on-site, the MLA issued strict directives to expedite the necessary measures for making all tributaries and distributaries fully functional. He stressed that irrigation water must reach the tail-end areas without any delay, ensuring that farmers receive adequate water for their crops.
Surinder Kumar reaffirmed his commitment to improving irrigation infrastructure and ensuring that all pending issues related to water supply are addressed promptly. He assured the public that his office will continue monitoring the progress of these projects to guarantee timely completion and effective water distribution across the region.
The visit was well received by the local farmers and residents, who expressed their appreciation for the MLA’s proactive approach in addressing their long-standing concerns.
