Rajouri, Jan 29: The District Police Office Rajouri in a statement issued on Wednesday said that Rajouri police on Wednesday conducted searches at 25 locations in a terror related case registered last year across district Rajouri.
During searches, police have seized incriminating material and important documents however police have not informed any arrest.
Police added that on the strength of warrant received from honourable NIA Court, Rajouri Police conducted extensive searches at 25 locations across the district including Rajouri, Naushera, Thanamandi, Dharhal, Koteranka, Budhal, Manjakot and Chingus on 29th January 2025.
These searches were conducted as a part of investigation linked to a case FIR No. 447/2024 registered at police station Rajouri.
This case pertain to a terrorist network active in Rajouri which with the connivance of proscribed terrorist organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been working to activate overground workers (OGWs) in Jammu and Kashmir to initiate, organize and execute terror-related activities. It is pertinent to mention here that in the month of November last year acting tough against the Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and sympathisers of anti-national elements (ANEs), Rajouri police had conducted simultaneous searches across the district as a part of investigations linked to cases registered in 2013 & 2024.
The searches were conducted in Thanamandi, Darhal, Kalakot, and Manjakot tehsils.
In November searches were conducted as part of investigations linked to case FIR No. 95/2013 registered at Police Station Thanamandi, and case FIR No. 447/2024 registered at Police Station Rajouri.
