Rajouri, September 22: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday addressed two election rallies at Poonch and Koteranka in Rajouri district two day ahead of polling for 8 Assembly Constituencies of both the districts scheduled for September 25.
Coming heavily on Pakistan’s support to terrorism, the Defence Minister said that we want peaceful relations with our neighbours, but first Pakistan has first to stop supporting terrorism.
“If Pakistan guarantees they will not launch terrorism on Indian soil, we are ready to engage in dialogue with them,” said Rajnath Singh.
Lambasting NC-Congress for returning of Article 370 in J&K, which is also an agenda of Pakistan as the Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has also backed these parties.
“Is NC & Congress working as Pakistan’s proxy? Why does Congress and its broken INDI Alliance repeatedly raise the same issue, which comes from Pakistan?
The Indian Government will not allow this agenda of Pakistan to succeed in J&K,” said the Defence Minister.
“These are the people who raised questions about Pulwama, demanding proof of surgical and air strikes, which is a clear indication of implementation of Pakistan’s agenda. It should be clear to both sides (Pakistan as well as its proxy in India) that we will not allow Pakistan’s evil agenda to work in J&K,” said Rajnath Singh.
He added that 61% polling in the first phase of polling for 24 seats on September 18 has sent a strong message to the world that people came out for change without any fear after abrogation of Article 370.
He congratulated the people of J&K for raising the flag of democracy high and said that Pakistan has started feeling pain in the stomach. It started pain in Pakistan’s stomach after this.
Rajnath Singh accused Congress of misleading people of J&K by claiming that they would restore statehood if voted to power.
“PM Narendra Modi has already said in the Parliament and in election rallies that statehood would be restored to J&K” said Rajnath Singh.
Rajnath Singh accused Pakistan of interfering in India’s internal matters.
“Pakistan is already pleading for a bailout package from the IMF for a USD 7 billion. The amount of the bailout package is about ten times less than the package given by PM Modi for J&K’s development.

Rajnath Singh was campaigning in favour of Ch Zulfikar Ali, BJP candidate from Darhal Assembly Constituency of Rajouri district.
At Poonch, Rajnath Singh, while addressing a public rally in support of BJP candidate Choudhary Abdul Ghani, emphasized that only BJP can bring real and rapid development to Pir Panjal region asserting that the BJP’s governance would transform J&K.
“If BJP is voted in power, there will be rampant development in every corner of J&K” said Rajnath Singh.
He highlighted the BJP’s vision for improved infrastructure, increased employment opportunities, and better integration of the region into the national mainstream.
