CCIU Rajouri recovered Rs 8.43 lakh from different online fraud cases

Rajouri, July 23: District Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) Rajouri-a dedicated unit to deal with cases of online frauds and cybercrime, has achieved a major success by recovering funds valuing of rupees 8,43,501 to different cyber-crime victims during the ensuing July month.
District Police Office in a statement issued said that during the month of July year as many as 13 aggrieved persons reached out to Cyber Crime Investigation unit Rajouri with their grievance of being defrauded by online scamsters.
Following which the dedicated team of CCIU Rajouri started its investigation.Notably the diligent investigative efforts of District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri in coordination with financial institutions resulted in making the recovery of defrauded money worth Rs 8,43,501
The District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri remains committed and vigilant in efforts to prevent and combat financial crimes, working tirelessly to safeguard the interests and financial security of our citizens.
It is pertinent to mention that Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, Anand Jain-IPS, immediately after taking over as Zonal Chief had directed all districts to establish such Cyber Crime Investigation Unit with a view to ease the hardships being faced by cybercrime victims in reaching Cyber Police Station Jammu for redressal of their grievances.
The SSP Rajouri, Randeep Kumar (JKPS) also appeals its citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activity promptly on National Helpline Number 1930 or report online cyber complaint at www.cybercrime.gov.in or District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri Helpline Number- 9541900755.
