Rajouri, January 16: Jazaa Educational and Charitable Trust organised the Samote Premier League Cricket Tournament at Samote in Budhal Block of Rajouri district in which 16 teams participated.
The final match was played on Tuesday between the teams of Samote Stricker and MCC Budhal and MCC Budhal lifted the trophy.
Second-in-Command of 60 RR Naga unit and social activist and ex-sarpanch Kewal, Farooq Inqlabi were the Chief Guest on this occasion and the final match was witnessed by many locals besides ex-Sarpanch Samote.
Bilal Bhat Chairman Jazaa Educational and Charitable Trust, Bilal Bhat while speaking on this occasion said that the main objective of our Trust is to promote sports activities among youths.
“In the upcoming tournament, youngsters from Pir Panjal region, Chenab region, Jammu and other districts of Kashmir valley will participate in the Samote Premier League Cricket Tournament being organised by the Trust,” said Bilal Bhat.
Farooq Inqlabi congratulated the MCC team for their excellent performance.
“It is a big message for the youth to come forward in the field of sports and make the name of Jammu and Kashmir shine and make J&K drugs free state,” said Farooq Inqlabi.
Second-in-Command 60 RRR Naga, Farooq Inqlabi, and Gafoor Bhat Ex Sarpanch Samote and other Guests honoured both the teams.
Farooq Inqlabi while demanding a large playground in this area said; “The administration should take necessary steps in giving priority to the youth of this area in sports. Youths from Budhal, Samote & Koteranka have been demanding sports facilities, including playground, training camps since a long time from the J&K LG Administration”.
He said that sports relieve the youth from mental stress and sports are necessary for the youth for good health.
Aftab Ahmed of MCC Budhal declared Man of the Match award while Man of the Series award was won by Mohd Zabir Rajput from Samote team.
